Seattle Pacific University Falcons

The Falcons are the football team of the Seattle Pacific University. Their men’s soccer team created an amazing football tour to Europe, visiting no less than four different countries in 15 days.

A combination of friendly matches, training sessions and cultural activities ensured the participants’ development both on and off the pitch.

Football Tour of The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany & France

Homebase for the Falcon’s European football tour was the country of the Netherlands. From here, the American men’s team visited Belgium, Germany and France.

The squad played friendly matches against Sparta Rotterdam, KV Mechelen and Sint Truidense VV. These fixtures exposed them to the football styles of Dutch and Belgian youth academies.

The Falcons also got a taste of the German Bundesliga, with a visit to the impressive football stadium of Borussia Mönchengladbach.

A definite highlight of the tour was a day trip to the city of Paris in France. A high speed train connection brought them to sights like the Eiffel Tower, the Notre Dame and the Seine river.

In the Netherlands, the men learned more about the history of the Second World War by visiting the Anne Frank House and the War Museum Overloon.

They also got up and close to some of the best football clubs in the country, by visiting the stadiums of both AFC Ajax and PSV Eindhoven. Another highlight was their day in Amsterdam, where the squad got to cross a cruise on the famous canals off their bucket list.

The squad also participated in an international tournament, where they met opposition from Dutch, Belgian, English and Scandinavian clubs.
