US National Team U17

The U17 national team of the USA wanted to go on a training camp, to prepare for qualification matches. Another goal of the tour was for the football players to come together as a team and get to know each other better.

As a good climate and excellent training facilities were prerequisites for the trip, the decision was made to travel to Dubai.

Football Tour Dubai – United Arab Emirates

During their week in Dubai, the U17’s had lots of training sessions. These were conducted by their own coaches in sessions of two hours each. The training sessions took place at Dubai Sports City.

This training complex was adjacent to the national team’s hotel, which minimized travel time. The hotel (Ghaya Grand Dubai) was outfitted with the facilities necessary for a training camp of this level, like a meeting room, a kit room, a room for physio treatments, a separate meal area and high quality sports meals.

The Americans also played a friendly match against the national team of Mali, who were also in the United Arab Emirates for a training camp. This international fixture exposed the team to a different type of football than they were used to.
