Wales U16 recently returned from an incredible international trip to Turkey. A week filled with football, development opportunities and unforgettable experiences both on and off the pitch.

The team arrived in Turkey on Monday, October 27th, ready to begin their trip. The following two days, the players took part in a training sessions hosted by their own coaches.

Thursday, October 30th the team had their first match of the Football Federation Cup, where they competed the National U16 team of England. Throughout the entire match, the team displayed excellent teamwork, resilience and a commitment to competing at the highest level.

On Friday, October 31st, the team started of with team meetings and a training session. After the training the team returned to their hotel and had some time to relax.

The following day the team played a match against the National U16 team of Portugal. After 90 minutes the match ended in a 3-0 loss for Wales.

After the match day, the team enjoyed a day of sightseeing in Side. They walked around at the boulevard and played some football on the beach with the whole team.

The next day the team started with team meetings and pre-activation before the training. After their training they had to follow some education after which they could enjoy some dinner.

The 4th of November was the final day of the Football Federation Cup. The team had to play Turkey for their final match. After 90 tense minutes between the two teams, Wales was able to score a last minute goal to secure their first win of the tournament, a great way to end the tournament!

That next day the Wales team returned home. Full of memories, growth and valuable international experience.

With the Football Federation Cup, professional environments and cultural exploration, this trip was a major step in the continued development of these young athletes. Wales U16 returns home stronger, more connected and inspired for the journey ahead.
