Participant > Participant (On-field)
Should a participant be subject to discriminatory abuse by another participant that is heard by the match official; in accordance with Rules stated in the Tournament Regulations, the offending participant must be dismissed. The match official/referee must then inform the coaching staff from both clubs immediately before the play restarts. For short term tournaments all decisions of the Tournament Committee are final.
Should a participant be subject to discriminatory abuse by another participant that is not heard by the match official; this should be reported to the match official, who must stop the game whilst they inform both sets of coaches and the tournament committee. After the match, the tournament committee will speak to all parties concerned, to ensure there is clarity on what is reported.
Participant > Participant (Off-field)
Should a participant be subject to discriminatory abuse by another participant that doesn’t take place during a match. The participant should report this to their coach and the tournament committee. The tournament committee will speak to all parties concerned, to make ensure there is clarity on what is reported. For short term tournaments all decisions of the Tournament Committee are final.
Emotional wellbeing and player care
The welfare and wellbeing of the players must always be the priority. This should be reflected in any actions taken. If the player(s) do not feel safe and/or the environment remains a risk to the player(s) welfare, then a discussion should be had with the player(s) if they wish to continue. The relevant Team staff, and parents/guardians (if possible and appropriate) must be informed of any incidents that occurred to ensure the player(s) concerned can receive the required level of support and care.
We’ve created 2 Discrimination reporting protocols, which can be found by clicking on the buttons below. Your form will be saved and shared with all parties involved.
