Code of Conduct

Purpose and Scope

The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to set clear behavioural expectations for everyone involved in Orange Veins activities. It aims to promote a safe, inclusive, respectful and positive environment for all participants, with particular consideration for children and adults at risk.

This Code of Conduct applies in conjunction with the Orange Veins Safeguarding and Anti-Discrimination Policy.

It applies to all individuals involved in Orange Veins activities, including:

  • Players and participants
  • Coaches and team staff
  • Club officials
  • Match officials and volunteers
  • Parents, guardians and accompanying adults
  • Supporters who are part of the Orange Veins delegation

Standards of Behavior

Expected behaviour

All individuals are expected to:

  • Treat others with dignity, respect and fairness at all times
  • Act in a manner that supports a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment
  • Respect cultural differences and promote positive sporting values
  • Follow instructions from Orange Veins staff, tournament officials and match officials
  • Uphold the principles of fair play, sportsmanship and integrity

Unacceptable behaviour

The following behaviours are not tolerated:

  • Any form of discrimination, harassment, abuse or bullying
  • Use of offensive, threatening or discriminatory language or gestures
  • Intimidation, aggression or violent behaviour
  • Behaviour that undermines the safety or wellbeing of others
  • Failure to comply with reasonable instructions or Orange Veins policies

Responsibilities of Specific Groups

Players and Participants

Players and participants must:

  • Play within the rules and respect match officials and their decisions
  • Show respect towards teammates, opponents, staff and officials
  • Report concerns to a trusted adult or Safeguarding Lead

 Coaches, Team Staff and Club Officials

Coaches and staff must:

  • Act as positive role models at all times
  • Promote and enforce this Code of Conduct within their teams
  • Ensure appropriate supervision and care of participants
  • Report any safeguarding or discrimination concerns promptly

Parents, Guardians and Supporters

Parents, guardians and supporters must:

  • Encourage positive behaviour and enjoyment of the game
  • Avoid confrontational or aggressive behaviour
  • Remain in designated spectator areas
  • Support match officials and tournament staff

Breaches of the Code of Conduct

Breaches of this Code of Conduct may result in action being taken by Orange Veins, including:

  • Warnings or instructions to modify behaviour
  • Removal from a match, activity or venue
  • Suspension or exclusion from Orange Veins activities
  • Referral to the Safeguarding and Anti-Discrimination Policy procedures

Serious or repeated breaches may lead to escalation in line with the Orange Veins Safeguarding and Anti-Discrimination Policy.

Reporting a Concern

Any concerns relating to behaviour or breaches of this Code of Conduct should be reported to Orange Veins staff or via the reporting form on the website.

In an emergency, or where there is an immediate or significant risk of harm, local emergency services should be contacted without delay.

Acknowledgement

By participating in an Orange Veins activity, all individuals agree to adhere to this Code of Conduct and understand that failure to do so may result in disciplinary action.
