In February 2025, the U16 team of the UAE travelled to Salou, Spain, to participate in the Football Federations Cup. During this week, they had intensive training sessions, played three matches against strong opponents, and experienced unforgettable moments.

On February 15^th, the team arrived at Barcelona Airport and continued their journey to Cambrils Park Resort. After a long trip, they immediately had a one-hour training session, followed by a dinner and a well-deserved night rest.

The next two days consisted of gym sessions at the resort, free time, training, analyses, and mainly preparing for the first match of the tournament against the Czech Republic.

Before the match, on Tuesday February 18^th, the team had a meeting to discuss the final tactics once more. Both teams fought hard and were not giving any space. Unfortunately, the Czech Republic scored in the 63^rd minute, which also became the final score.

After the match, the team returned to the hotel, had dinner, and went to bed.

The next morning started with breakfast and a gym session at the resort. In the late afternoon, they went to the training field for another training session.

On Thursday February 20^th the second match of the tournament was played against Sweden.

UAE took the lead with two quick goals and controlled the game. Sweden took their time to get back into the match. In the first half, Sweden scored the 2-1. In the second half, they completely turned it around. With three goals, they took home the win. UAE lost their second match with 4-2 against Sweden.

On Friday and Saturday, the team trained twice a day. Once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Besides that, they had free time to recover for the final match against Wales.

Sunday February 23^rd was the last day of the trip. The day started with breakfast before the bus was ready to take the team to the match venue.

UAE and Wales kicked off well. After 31 minutes, UAE started their uprise. They scored three beautiful goals. In the 90^th minute, Wales scored one, but it wasn’t enough, UAE took home the win.

After the match and an insightful week, the team flew back to Dubai with many new memories.

A great team performance and team play secured them the 3^rd place in the Football Federations Cup U16 2025. Congratulations!
