Dutch Connections FC

The Netherlands Tour

Tour Overview

In May 2026, Dutch Connections FC travelled to the Netherlands for an exciting week of football, training and cultural experiences. Organised by Orange Veins, the tour provided the players with the opportunity to compete against professional academy opposition, participate in high-quality training sessions and experience Dutch football culture firsthand.

The team arrived at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport on Thursday 7 May before travelling to Etten-Leur, where they checked into the Fletcher Hotel Trivium. Following their arrival and check-in, the players enjoyed a team walk and had time to settle in ahead of the week’s activities.

On Friday, the squad took part in their first training session of the tour. The session provided an excellent opportunity for the players to adapt to their new surroundings, work on key aspects of their game and prepare for the upcoming fixtures.

The football programme began on Saturday with a match against PSV Eindhoven at the club’s academy facilities. Dutch Connections FC faced PSV Eindhoven U10 in a challenging fixture that allowed the players to test themselves against one of the Netherlands’ leading academies. Following the match, the team returned to the hotel to recover and reflect on the experience.

Sunday featured another academy fixture, this time against NAC Breda. The players competed against NAC Breda U10 in a competitive and enjoyable match before later returning to the stadium to watch NAC Breda take on SC Heerenveen in an Eredivisie fixture. Experiencing professional football in the Netherlands gave the players a valuable insight into the country’s football culture.

On Monday, the group participated in another training session before travelling to Nijmegen for a fixture against N.E.C. Nijmegen. The match provided another excellent learning opportunity and allowed the players to continue developing their skills against strong academy opposition.

Tuesday offered a change of pace as the team travelled to Amsterdam. The players enjoyed free time in the city, exploring one of the Netherlands’ most famous destinations and creating memories away from the football pitch.

Following a recovery day, the players returned to the training ground on Wednesday for another session focused on preparation and development ahead of the final football event of the tour.

On Thursday, Dutch Connections FC participated in the Tricht U10 Tournament. Competing against a variety of teams throughout the day provided a fitting conclusion to the football programme and allowed the players to put into practice everything they had learned during the week.

After an early departure on Friday morning, the group travelled to Schiphol Airport for their flight home. Throughout the tour, the players demonstrated excellent commitment, enthusiasm and sportsmanship both on and off the pitch.

The Netherlands Tour provided Dutch Connections FC with a unique opportunity to compete against top academy opposition, experience professional football environments and immerse themselves in Dutch football culture. The experiences gained throughout the week will undoubtedly contribute to the players’ continued development both as footballers and as individuals.
