The trip began with the team settling into their hotel, perfectly located within walking distance to restaurants, shops, and key attractions in the heart of Madrid. The first few days of the trip featured two training sessions, hosted by their own coaching staff at top local venues, helping the players acclimate and prepare for the exciting week ahead.

One of the early highlights of the trip was a visit to the world-famous Prado Museum, where the players and families were able to experience the rich artistic and cultural history of Spain. It was a unique opportunity to take a step beyond the pitch and dive into the heart of Madrid’s cultural legacy.

As the week progressed, the football experiences only got better. The team enjoyed two professional training sessions led by academy coaches from Atlético Madrid and CD Leganés. These sessions gave the players firsthand insight into the methods and intensity of top-level European academies providing an invaluable experience that will stay with them forever.

In addition to training, Eastside FC U14 played four competitive friendly matches, including games against Atlético Madrid and CD Leganés. Facing elite competition gave the players a chance to measure themselves against some of the best young talent in Europe, and they stepped up to the challenge with great determination and enthusiasm.

To fully take in the magic of Madrid as a football capital, the group attended not just one, but two professional matches, including a spectacular UEFA Champions League clash between Real Madrid and Manchester City. The players soaked in the unforgettable atmosphere of elite football at the highest level. They also visited Atlético Madrid’s stadium and went on a full tour of the Santiago Bernabéu, diving deeper into the history and glory of the greatest club of all time.

Aside from the packed football schedule, the group had plenty of time to explore the city, enjoy Spanish cuisine, and experience day-to-day life in Madrid. These moments added a personal and cultural richness to the entire trip, ensuring that the memory lives on in the minds of these young talents.

All in all, the Eastside FC U14 team had an incredible time in Madrid! From world-class training and matches to cultural highlights and unforgettable stadium experiences, this trip offered a perfect blend of football and exploration.
