In March 2025, the team arrived in the Netherlands and started their football journey with two friendly matches. The first was against Belgian side KRC Genk, which they won 3-6. Their second friendly was a solid performance against N.E.C. Nijmegen, securing a 0-4 victory. All in all, these matches laid the perfect foundation for an exciting tournament ahead.

In their first match at the tournament, SE Palmeiras defeated AZ Alkmaar 2-0. In the second match, they managed a narrow 0-1 win over Malmö FF. The third match ended in a 1-1 draw against Southampton FC, which placed SE Palmeiras in the semi-finals of the tournament, after topping their group.

The semi-final was a tense and exciting match against Aalborg BK, which ended 1-1 after full time. The match was decided by penalties, where SE Palmeiras came up just short. However, there was still a chance to claim the third place trophy, and end the tournament on a high note.

In the final for the 3rd place, they once again faced AZ Alkmaar. After a 0-0 draw, SE Palmeiras held their nerve and won a thrilling penalty shootout, securing third place in the Nexperia N.E.C. Nijmegen Cup U17.

Aside from the football, the players had a wonderful cultural experience during their stay in The Netherlands. They had the opportunity to go sightseeing in Amsterdam, taking in the local culture, architecture, and charm of the Dutch capital.

Another highlight of the trip was the unique experience of staying with Dutch host families over the weekend, allowing the players to fully immerse themselves in Dutch daily life and hospitality. Gaining these invaluable experiences ensures that the players are ready when they make their step to the ultimate stage of European top club football.

All in all, SE Palmeiras U17 had an amazing time in The Netherlands! The football, the culture, and the warm welcome made this an unforgettable trip. The team were accompanied by their own tour manager who spoke Portuguese and Dutch, facilitating the transition for the team into a new environment, and breaking down the language barrier.

Upon their return to Brazil, the staff made sure to let us know that they were very pleased with the smooth organization and support by Orange Veins, and left with great memories both on and off the pitch.
