On Wednesday, August 20th, the U13 team of Tokyo arrived at Schiphol Airport to begin their exciting international football journey in the Netherlands. Upon arrival, the group traveled to their hotel, where they enjoyed dinner and settled in to prepare for the packed week ahead.

The next day, the team played their first friendly match, taking on the youth squad of Go Ahead Eagles. It was a great opportunity to get used to the Dutch playing style and get into rhythm ahead of the upcoming tournament.

On Friday, August 22nd, Tokyo U13 kicked off the first day of the FC Zutphen Tournament. Competing against youth teams from various countries, the tournament provided a challenging and high-level environment. The competition continued on Saturday and Sunday, as the second and third days of the tournament pushed the players both physically and mentally. Throughout the event, the Tokyo squad showed strong teamwork, effort, and a hunger to improve.

After a well-earned rest, the team returned to the pitch on Monday, August 25th for another friendly match — this time against N.E.C. Nijmegen, a respected Dutch academy. The match served as a great final test and development moment to round off the football part of the trip.

The final day, Tuesday, August 26th, offered one last activity: a stadium tour at Ajax’s Johan Cruijff ArenA. Walking through the home of one of Europe’s most famous clubs was an inspiring moment for the young players. That same day, the group headed back to Schiphol Airport to catch their flight home to Tokyo.

The trip provided Tokyo U13 with unforgettable memories, valuable football experience, and exposure to international competition. The players return home more connected, more experienced, and motivated for the journey ahead.
