Leicester City FC U18 Tour Belgium
Flying from Birmingham to Brussels International Airport, Leicester City traveling to Belgium to face Royal Antwerp U18 and Club Brugge U18 for two friendly fixtures. After arrival the group went to Sporthotel Bruurs where they stayed for the upcoming 6 days. This accommodation is ideal for sports groups, just located behind the Dutch borders in the village of Baarle-Nassau, The Netherlands.
The friendly matches where schedule on Tuesday and Thursday. All other days where planned for training sessions. Ideal, because the training facilities are on walking distance from the hotel, only 3 minutes away. Leicester City U18 used the natural grass fields of Dutch amateur football club Gloria UC. With perfect field conditions, players and coaches where extremely happy and fully focused on getting ready for their friendly matches against some quality Belgium first division clubs.
On Tuesday 19th of July Leicester City traveled to the City of Antwerp. After a warm welcome the game vs Royal Antwerp U18 took place. Both sides pushed up the level and a result of 1-1 was a well-deserved score for both teams. Two days later the game against Club Brugge U18 in the City of Brugge was scheduled. After 90 minutes Leicester City U18 won the game with 3 – 2. Club Brugge was impressed by the level and type of play Leicester City showed.
But like always, all nice trips come to an end. On Friday 22nd of July Leicester City returned home with more experience and a positive energy to start their competition.
