Football in San Francisco

The city of San Francisco has two youth academies with Academy Status. These are San Francisco Glens Evolution and San Francisco Elite Academy. These statuses are awarded by the US Development Academy.

US Development Academies strive to provide young football players with development environments of the highest standards, so they can maximize their potential. This not only includes their football programme, but their training grounds and coaches as well.

Furthermore, San Francisco is home to women’s football team San Francisco Nighthawks. This football club is a founding member of the WPSL, the third tier of women’s soccer in the United States.

In the past, The San Francisco Seals used to be a dominating senior football team. However, since 2009 the Seals have decided to focus solely on youth development, with teams ranging from U6 to U23.

Create your own football tour to San Francisco

Take your football team to one of the most iconic cities in the USA: San Francisco! Play friendly matches against high level academies from the Bay area. Expose your players to a different style of football with a training session from a guest coach.

Swap your regular training session for a bike tour across the famous Golden Gate Bridge. And don’t forget to visit Alcatraz, China town and Pier 39 for a dose of culture.

Because San Francisco is built on a lot of hills, even your team’s morning walk before breakfast can become quite the exercise.
