Sporting CP are Champions of the LGSP International Youth Cup!
The final match of the 2025 edition of the LGSP Intercontinental Youth Cup, which took place on Saturday at the Sport Clube Rio Tinto Sports Complex, saw Sporting CP win the final against SC Braga (3-2). Duarte Coelho scored a hat-trick.
A total of 20 intercontinental teams took part in this U12 youth tournament, which stands out for its high level of competitiveness, providing unique experience for young talents and promoting sporting and cultural exchanges between renowned clubs.
The tournament was approved by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) and the Porto Football Association, which allocated its elite accredited referees to the event.
Paulo Geisler, CEO of LGSP, said that “this LGSP Intercontinental Youth 2025 tournament took place in Gondomar in a very orderly fashion, as the local authority pointed out at the end of the ceremony. It is characterized by a strong sense of solidarity, promoting healthy and respectful competition between all the participants and world-renowned teams”. The events organized by LGSP Sports governed by high standards of organization and safety, in close collaboration with the local authorities.
The closing ceremony was attended by former FC Porto goalkeeper Helton, who supported the tournament, and at the end of the event a collaboration protocol was signed between Gondomar City Council and LGSP as part of the help alliance project, the aim of which is to promote the rehabilitation of housing in the municipality, reinforcing the commitment to social inclusion and improving the living conditions of the local population.
The LGSP Intercontinental Youth Cup 2025 is a prestigious international youth football tournament organised by Lufthansa Ground Services Portugal (LGSP), which since its foundation has invested in promoting sporting activity, as well as internationalizing the country by organising international football tournaments, but also athletics and football training camps for foreign clubs.
