The only club from Miami that plays football on the highest national level is Inter Miami CF. This club was founded in 2018 and participated in the MLS for the first time in 2020.

One of the co-founders of this brand new club is former football legend David Beckham. Throughout his football career, Beckham played for big clubs like Manchester United and Real Madrid. This club plays in the USL Championship, the second tier of the American football system. Miami FC play their home games at the campus of the Florida International University.
